Country babysitters (Denmark)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were currently 9 and were watching your parents walking around your living room from the couch.
"I don't think I need a babysitter." You mumbled. Your mother sighed and walked to you on the couch.
"You may not, but you never know honey. There could be someone out there who will try to break in. We would rather you be safe then sorry." She said as she touched your nose lightly. You sighed and nodded your head.
"Yeah, okay."
DING DONG
"That must be Mathias!" Your father said as he went to the door.
"Who?" You said wondering who they were talking about. You heard your parents talking and after a while they heard them call, "Were leaving now (name)! We'll be back in a few hours! Have fun and be good! Love ya!" Your father shouted.
"Love you too!" You called back as you heard the door close and footsteps coming towards you. After a few seconds a boy appeared and you noticed his features. He looked kind of old, maybe mid 20's. He had blue eyes that looked filled with energy and blonde hair that stuck straight up.
'I wonder how much gel he uses on his hair.' You thought as you eyes the blondes hair.
"Just so you know, I don't use gel for my hair." He said suddenly.
"... Can you read minds?" You asked. He laughed and shook his head.
"Nope. But you were looking at my hair for a while and everyone asks that question." He responded.
"Oh. But your hair is just like BAM! Suddenly up." You said with emphasis on 'BAM'. Mathias laughed harder and was on the floor, beating his fist on the ground. "Ya know, it wasn't that funny." You said quietly.
"I-It's just that no one has ever described my hair like that ever." He explained, wiping a tear from his eye.
"But it is." You said. Mathias stood up and dusted off his jeans and sat down next to you on the couch.
"So what are you watching kiddo?" He asked.
"(favorite show that isn't hetalia)." You said.
"I've never heard of that." He said. You nearly fell off the couch and looked at him wildly.
"What is wrong with your life!?" You shouted. Mathias fell off the couch in panic and looked back at you wildly.
"What are you talking about!?" He shouted back. You shook your head and fixed back into your position.
"Never mind." Mathias cautiously climbed back onto the couch and got comfortable again.
"Hey do your parents have any beer?" He asked.
"Is it that yellow stuff that looks like apple cider?" You ask. Mathias nods his head in response. "Oh. No. My parents rarely buy that stuff. They said it's bad for you though. And it smells bad." You said scrunching your nose. Mathias sighed.
"Oh. Well it would probably be a bad idea for me to drink in front of a kid anyway." He said.
"Most likely." You said. Matias gave you a 'really?' look and you smiled back at him. "But if it helps we have sparkling cider and that's pretty good." You said. Mathias shook his head and rubbed the top of your head.
"No thanks." He said. He got up and started walking when he banged his knee of a chair. "AAWW SH- I MEAN CR- I MEAN OOOOWWWWW!!" He shouted. You stared at him for a while until he recovered and sat back down.
"You okay?" You asked patting his shoulder. He sniffled and nodded his head. "Kinda sucks to know you can't say a bad word in front of a kid." You said shaking your head. Mathias shot you a look and leaned back into the couch.
"Whatever!" He said throwing his hands in the air.
"What ethnicity are you?" You asked randomly.
"Danish!"
"Where's that from?"
"Denmark!"
"Oh. Cool."
"Darn straight it's cool!" He shouted standing up.
"Don't bang your knee again." You said smirking.
"... You're just like my friend Lukas. If you two met you would be great friends on messing with me." He said. You smiled as he sat back down.
"Isn't it really cold in Denmark?" You asked.
"Eh, not really. But I'm pretty sure that's because I lived there for a long time before I came here so I got use to the cold." He explained. You nodded your head and flipped upside down. "...What are you doing?" Mathias asked.
"Sitting upside down of course!"
"Why?"
"So I can figure out what people on the bottom of the earth feel like."
"Well they don't really-... Okay then." Mathias said.
After an hour your parents came home and walked into the living room to find you and a sleeping Dane upside down. They smiled and left the room quietly.
